Most people who want art for their home don’t know where to start. Galleries feel intimidating. Online shops feel impersonal. We sit right in between — accessible, personal, and genuine.
As a photographer and art director with decades of experience in fashion and editorial photography, Hans Mooijer founded Anekdote Art in 2015 with a simple idea: art should tell a story. Not just look good on a wall — but start conversations, hold memories, and mean something to the person living with it every day.

Instead of endless catalogues, we work with a tight-knit group of Dutch and international artists whose work we know deeply. We curate carefully, advise personally, and only represent work we genuinely believe in.
