Born in Amsterdam in 1970, Jerome Bech lives and works in Bergen. He began creating art at the age of 21 and decided to fully dedicate himself to his artistic practice around the age of 25.
A self-taught artist, Bech was inspired early on by the CoBrA movement and artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Hans van Draanen, and Lucebert.
For decades, Bech has been actively involved in the art scene in Bergen and beyond, participating in exhibitions, art fairs, and collaborations both nationally and internationally.

What drives Jerome as an artist is the act of making itself. His work emerges intuitively through color, form, and material, evolving over more than 35 years through continuous experimentation and discovery. In his practice, he works with painting and objects, often allowing existing forms to lose their original meaning before reconstructing them within a new context. The result is work that exists in the space between recognition and estrangement.
